Peggy’s Florals at Party Paradise
Fresh Flowers for Every Occasion
Hello, my name is Jo-Anne Richards and I would like to introduce you to my not-so-new venture. I say not so new because my Mom, Peggy actually started this almost 30 years ago. Inspired by her grandmother Teresa my Mom developed a love for flowers and she would always tend to her little garden while growing up. When she became a homeowner, the house was always surrounded by plants, flowers, and trees as she was always very conscious of the environment. We her children were taught to “waste not, want not” and that “cleanliness was next to Godliness”.
My Mom on occasion would take trips to Dominica to visit my aunt and while there she fell in love with the diverse types of tropical flowers that grew there in abundance and would take any opportunity that she got to bring them to Antigua. In 1994 she developed her business where she would sell house plants and tropical flowers. Her clients included homeowners, hotels, and flower shops. This she did until her passing in 2001. I continued the business as a part-time venture for about 10 years but due to logistical issues it became rather difficult to import the flowers into Antigua.
In 2011 I opened Party Paradise, and it was always my intention to somehow incorporate the tropical flowers into the business. We decided this year to start again but this time as a full-service flower shop providing flowers from all over the world to our clients. Our concept is for the customer to be able to come in and choose their own flowers or get a floral arrangement. We cater to everyone including florists, hotels, event decorators, homeowners, churches, and other organizations.
Our aim is to make it easier for customers to have access to as many varieties of flowers as possible. So, if you are having a wedding or any other event or if you just enjoy the beauty of having flowers around you then you should visit our store to see our products. We also deliver island wide and if you’re in Barbuda we can also arrange to get them to you as well.
We are located on Redcliffe Street in the Weathered Building.
