Warm, nurturing, joyful, carefree and serene best sum up the colourful, original paintings by Gilly Gobinet. Working mostly in acrylic and watercolour, her art, both figurative and abstract, is largely inspired by the beautiful, sunny island of Antigua, her island home in the Caribbean. The sparkling sea and myriad plants & animals, including an amazing marine life, are subjects of which she never tires. Her striking paintings of classic yachts come from her love of sailing and her involvement in the annual Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta.
This Antiguan artist also delights in celebrating the luscious curves of the female nude – highly appropriate in a warm climate where few if any clothes are needed.
An avid dog lover and owner, Gilly Gobinet gladly accepts commissions of pet portraits of dogs and cats, which bring great joy both to the owners and to the Antiguan artist. Her original paintings are based on high res photos supplied to her by the owners.
