AKA – Aero Kiteboarding Academy
AKA (Aero Kiteboarding Academy) is a kiteboarding academy conceived by Corrado Perfetto, a dreamer who has dedicated his life to teaching and sports coaching. His ethos is to offer all those who dream about learning to kiteboard a safe, technical and enjoyable personalized experience.
Corrado is the instructor at AKA Antigua and he’s from Italy where he learned to kitesurf the hard way. In less than two hours he learned to fly the kite and practicing body dragging in the deep waters of Lake Garda in northern Italy. The following day after three hours battling with himself and the elements, Corrado managed to stand on the board and start his maiden voyage with his first long crosswind in both directions. At that moment he realized that sharing this experience would be his future.
The summer season ended and Corrado left energized with his old Volkswagen Van. He spent the winter between Spain (on the coast, from Barcellona to Valencia, from Malaga to Tarifa) and Portugal (Faro, Porto) where he refined the riding technique and taught his very first lessons.
Corrado returned to Italy and accepted the challenge of managing a kite School in Navene (Verona), at Garda Lake. The next 7 years kiteboarding and teaching became his life.
This sport has allowed him to continue to travel and teach thousands of people around the world in many wonderful places such as South Africa (South and East Coast), Central America (Venezuela, Guatemala, Mexico, Costa Rica), and Zanzibar (Paje Beach).
The westerly winds then took Corrado to the Caribbean and Antigua & Barbuda where he has been working for 6 years in one of the most unique destinations in the world to learn to kiteboard.
Where, when, and how is it possible to kiteboard in Antigua & Barbuda with AKA? AKA was conceived to offer the best possible experience to anyone who wants to try kiteboarding, improve their technique or simply enjoy this sport in one of the most beautiful and breezy islands in the Caribbean.

WHERE
Antigua is kissed by trade winds all year round on the East, North-East, and South-East coasts. AKA wants to provide you with the optimum conditions for kiteboarding. Corrado, the instructor has, thoroughly studied the characteristics of the Island and has chosen the best locations to carry out AKA’s activities.
WHEN
When depends only on your times, the instructor’s availability, and the weather forecast.
To st-up a lesson it is important to book in advance by email or phone. Corrado will contact you as soon as possible to set up a convenient time for your lessons and/or your kite trip.
HOW
From the AKA base at Shell Beach Marina Corrado can easily move by sea or by land, to reach the best locations with all the material necessary for the lessons based on the forecasted conditions and the needs of the students.
