Adventure Antigua

Seclusion - Balancing luxury and practicality

Adventure Antigua has been taking guests to the most beautiful coastal destinations by boat since 1999.

Starting by Eli Fuller, a third-generation Antiguan adventurer, Adventure Antigua is different from many other snorkeling and sightseeing tour companies because each trip has been carefully designed to ensure that guests get the most educational and authentic day out on the water possible.

All of the crew have joined the team because of their love of the ocean and their goal is to make sure that your day out with them is like one spent with long-lost relatives and one which will be the best day of your holiday in Antigua and Barbuda.

The Eco Tour

This tour, famously known as “Eli’s Eco Tour” uses an open 52-foot powercat designed to get into shallow waters and tight spots around the reefs.

Local Antiguan and former Olympian Eli Fuller grew up on the North coast of Antigua, spending most of his spare time boating, windsurfing, snorkeling, and diving in the pristine eco-system of the North Sound area. His knowledge and love of these unspoiled waters, with their mangrove and reef habitats, prompted the design of his famous Eco-Tour which has now been running since 1999.

Eli’s aim has always been to make everyone who comes on the tour feel like they have spent the day with old friends and his crew is proud to claim that the personal attention they lavish on guests would not be surpassed if they really were family members from abroad.

The emphasis of the tour is on the ecology and history of the area. The warm, clear waters, protected by over twenty little islands, countless reefs, flats and mangrove nurseries are always calm and there are perfect opportunities for spotting some of the local residents, including Turtles, Frigate Birds, Herons, Pelicans, Spotted Eagle Rays, Sting Rays, Barracuda, Osprey, Terns, Noddies, Laughing Gulls, and the beautiful Tropic Birds. The crew will talk about local flora and fauna and the interesting scientific turtle project at Jumby Bay, and guests will be entertained by their anecdotes and stories of local history and folklore.

During the tour guests have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities. Before lunch, a snorkeling lesson will be given to those who have not snorkeled before or who want a refresher. All equipment is supplied, and crew members will accompany both guided snorkeling sessions after lunch. However, if you simply want to relax, there is plenty of shade on the boat and of course, easy ladders for those of you who fancy a refreshing dip.

There is also a chance to bathe in the natural jacuzzi at Hell’s Gate island. And throughout the day there will lots of time to take those souvenir photos that will make you the envy of your friends back home! Local fruit juices and other refreshments are available throughout the day and the delicious lunch is served on the boat while it is moored in one of the breathtaking bays of Bird Island. As the tour draws to a close and the boat heads home into the setting sun, Eli’s “secret recipe” rum punch is presented to make a perfect end to a perfect day.

The boat itself is extremely spacious and comfortable and has a freshwater shower and a restroom. Designed in the USA and US Coast Guard certified for 49 passengers, numbers on this tour are deliberately kept lower (max of 31) to enhance the casual and relaxing feeling, Eli wants his guests to experience.

You will leave this tour feeling that you have been welcomed into a very special community of the most privileged visitors to Antigua and Barbuda: those who have had a taste of what is really means to have grown up in the islands and have been let into the “secrets of the North Sound”.
Snorkeling gear, food, and drinks are provided.

The Xtreme Circumnavigation

The Xtreme Circumnavigation tour is a full-day powerboat tour that goes right around the coastline of Antigua.

After passing through the North Sound area, the first stop is Stingray City Marine Park.

There you will spend the normal 45min-1hour long session in the water with the rays & other marine life – it’s a natural reef & sandbank so there are lots of things to see. We continue around the island stopping at Antigua’s largest offshore deserted island, Green Island, for lunch.

While the crew is setting up, guests can have a wander around the island, having a swim on the North beach. After lunch, the boat heads south to Nelson’s Dockyard where Captain will point out the historic colonial structures and give a short talk explaining what they were used for. The second snorkeling session is at the Pillars of Hercules where the limestone boulders enter into the water at the mouth of Nelson’s Dockyard – at the base of the Shirley Heights cliff.

The last stop is at the magnificent Rendezvous Bay, a secluded beach on the south side of the island, where you can swim, snorkel, or beach comb & enjoy our homemade delicious rum punch.

Tuesdays and Thursdays
Cost:
Adults and children over 6 years old: US$190.00

Adventure Islands Tour

This is an amazing new tour that is not like anything that has ever been seen in Antigua and Barbuda with themes of ecology, history, and adventure all while maintaining a desire to be off the beaten track.

Guests are collected along the west coast of Antigua by boat and taken into the Northeast Marine Management Area, the Eastern Caribbean’s biggest Marine Park. There are over two dozen little islands and cays nestled between wonderful reefs which all create a barrier to the Atlantic Ocean’s waves and swells.

After zigging and zagging between these beautiful areas over its azure waters, the team navigates guests over to the private Laviscount Island. Laviscount is a gem of natural wonder with a historical significance that has been carefully and expertly prepared to host adventurers. The wooden docking area alone will captivate you as shoals of fish swim by. Laviscount is fringed by the most beautiful red mangrove plants and upon arrival, you know that you’re in for a treat. After the hosts give a short briefing, you will visit the giant Aldabra tortoises. Words just won’t do the experience justice but suffice to say that this will be another vacation highlight. You will have almost 3 hours on this island and unfortunately, you’ll find it won’t be long enough. You will be served lunch up under the wooden Pavillion then the guides and hosts will show you the Lesser Antillean iguana which is a rare and fascinating native species to this part of the Caribbean. The macaw parrots will say hello as you explore.

From here you will take a short hike through the middle of the island where artifacts from an ancient Amerindian settlement can be found. You will learn some interesting history about some of the region’s original inhabitants and how important these offshore Islands were to their survival. After a little walk to the most windward-facing bluff with its astonishing vistas of Seaton’s Harbour, guests will have a choice of snorkeling along the mangroves or returning to spend a little bit more time with the giant tortoises.

Then it’s time to say goodbye to the captivating Laviscount Island and to cruise over to Hell’s Gate. Since 1999 we’ve been taking our guests here to explore the amazing rocky bridge, limestone caves, and natural jacuzzi.

You will have time for some more adventure, with some guided snorkeling through the coral reefs before cruising home and serving up the historically important and equally potent traditional rum punch. What you’ve just done on this day will live with you forever.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Adults: US$190.00
